About Me
Favorite Music Moments

I'm Erik (or eRock), founder of this wonderful website. I began this mission to help bring independent musicians into the 21st century in July of 2007. I had just finished setting-up another social music site and I was realizing all the options and opportunities musicians on the Internet. I thought it only made sense to build this platform givent the current climate of the music industry, and hit the ground running.

It was a perfect fit for me. I had already been working in the nitty-gritty world of Net marketing for over 6 years, plus; not only am I a huge fan of independent music, but I also was part of Chicago's music scene in the early 90's. I played drums for a couple of bands and I remember very well how tough it is to get some exposure.

It's been a while

I know I haven't blogged on my profile for quite a while. That doesn't mean I've gone anywhere, just been keeping the site up-and-running, promoting and overall getting the word out about PLUGOLA.

We're working on some presentation and tutorial videos so you can get the most out of the site. I noticed not many are using the tools to help market your music, so I think it's better I show you how they all work.

Anyway, I just wanted to drop in so you know I'm still alive and always available if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions. if you're not following our blog, we have not only news about PLUGOLA, but helpful tips for musicians. The blog is located at our corporate site.
Fixing confirmation email bug

As some of you already know, we have been having problems getting your registration confirmation emails into your inbox. It seems that these emails are going directly into some people's junk/bulk/spam folders. We have been trying to pin-point the exact issue causing this, but we have been unsuccessful so far. Unfortunately, this is also keeping us from any launch announcements to the press. We're working on it, though, and we should have it fixed soon.

In the meantime, once you register please be sure to check your email's junk/spam folder for our confirmation message. If you still do not receive it, please be sure to contact us with your username.

UPDATE:(1/28/2009) I believe we have finally fixed the registration confirmation email issue. All our testing has showed that this is no longer a problem. *fingers crossed*
Things are picking-up...

In the past week or so, things have been picking-up in Plugola-land. We've been working on spreading the word a bit, slowly unleashing PLUGOLA to the public. A few web 2.0 tech sites added the site to their listings of new start-ups, and a few band blogs have begun talking about us. Once we finish preparing our promotion, we hope to see a small burst in new members. Unfortunately, everything is taking twice as long as expected. You know how things go; they never happen as intended. Damn that Murphy and his law!

We will also be meeting with a few potential investors over the next few weeks, so we can get this puppy running smooth with all the bells and whistles. The PLUGO.LA you see today is only the foundation of our goals. With more funding, we will be able to develop more tools to help make spreading music easier and fun. I'll keep you posted.
